Get your week started off right with this slow-paced style of yoga where the asanas (postures) are held for longer periods of time. For beginners, it may range from 45 seconds to two minutes and for more advanced practitioners you may stay in one asana for five minutes or more. Yin Yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body (tendons, fascia, and ligaments) with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. Yin is a meditative approach to yoga and its goals are awareness of inner silence, and bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality.
A low-impact and restorative practice that provides suppleness in the areas of body joints. It is excellent for those debilitated by rheumatism, high blood pressure, arthritis and reduced mobility due to injury. A wonderful practice to increase joint mobility, self-awareness and co-ordination.
Hatha flow is suitable for all levels with focus on pranayama, asana, meditation and relaxation. We start class by tuning in and chanting OM, then move into a pranayama exercise and warm up. We then flow through a series of asanas (postures) connecting the breath to the movement allowing your self to reconnect and become rooted in the present moment. You will leave feeling grounded and relaxed.
